Claim filed after worker was subjected to sexual harassment

Being sexually harassed in any situation can be a scarring experience. Florida residents who have faced sexual harassment while on the job may feel especially affronted by the actions as workplace environments should not condone such activity. In instances where workers have been subjected to such uncomfortable circumstances, those parties may wish to address the situations through legal action.

A former employee of ZocDoc has recently filed a claim against the company for sexual harassment. She claims that the atmosphere of the workplace to be comparable to a "frat house." She also stated that male employees would often discuss female employees' bodies and make inappropriate comments regarding their appearances. The male workers would reportedly also make vulgar insults about female workers without reprimand.

The former employee did state that she has evidence to support her claims, but that evidence was not provided for the report. The company itself stated that a policy is in place that is against harassment and discrimination in the workplace. It was not clear what damages the former employee may be seeking as she goes through with legal action.

In the majority professions, sexually charged language and actions have no place on the job. Therefore, employees who have been made to feel uncomfortable or otherwise harassed due to sexual actions may wish to file a complaint. If a complaint to superiors goes unheeded, Florida residents may wish to file sexual harassment claims in order to seek restitution for being subjected to harassing actions and potential retaliation for complaints.
