As one of the premier employment law firms in Florida, The Amlong Firm has long been protecting the rights of employees in the workplace. Our attorneys have handled virtually every employment law claim imaginable, including cases related to sexual harassment, GLBT rights, hostile work environment, unpaid wages and overtime, employer retaliation, whistle-blowing and all forms of workplace discrimination. Bill and Karen Coolman Amlong each have tried well over 100 jury trials.
Our 'Secret' To Success: Passion And Experience
Helping workers enforce their rights is not just a job at The Amlong Firm — it is a calling. Firm founders Bill and Karen Coolman Amlong started militating for social justice while at university in the 1960s ― and they never stopped.
Our attorneys and supporting staff are as diverse and passionate as the clients we serve. As the first state coordinator of the Florida chapters of the National Organization for Women (NOW), and a national board member in her 20s, attorney Karen Coolman Amlong has been active in women's rights issues. She was the first woman from Broward County elected as a state legislator in 1974, and, in 1993, she obtained the first multimillion-dollar-plus sexual harassment judgment in Florida. Fasttrack magazine also named her one of South Florida's Most Successful Businesswomen in 2002.
Before becoming a lawyer, Bill Amlong was an investigative reporter for The Miami Herald, covering, among other things, national politics. The Miami Herald nominated him for three Pulitzer Prizes.
